Looking to draw focus towards the study of literature and literary nuances for the betterment of her peers as well as challenging the disparity of literacy in children, Marycora Pattison founded the Youth Leaders in LIT club to accomplish these goals.
Under Marycora's leadership, YLIL has hosted book drives delivering 2125 new or like new books to their philanthropic partner Children's Book Project, created service hour opportunities, and is interviewing authors and academics focusing on
teen relationships with literature.
Expanding this mission outside of her school, Marycora hopes to reach a wider audience of her peers to benefit from shared knowledge and the gratification of making a difference with access to books.
